Cycling Club

The CYCLING CLUB has 150 members offering 3 levels of difficulty.

Brent Thompson has issued a weekly report on the 5 cycle shops that offer our members discount specials. Jim Tilbe from the Level 3 group is mapping all of our cycling trips in Calgary and will also map out of town trips. Many thanks to both men for their volunteer efforts. 

Curling Wind Up

CURLERS enjoyed a great wind-up party. Lorne Peppler, as pastpresidentwas presented with an engraved trophy.  He had the audience in tears with his very funny stories. Thanks Lorne, for all you have done.  It was a great afternoon!

Calligraphy Club

On May 1 our Calligraphy Club had a special showing of one of the magnificent facsimiles of the Saint John's Bible acquired by St. Mary's University College.  This masterpiece of calligraphy and artwork has taken 9 years to complete. It is one of seven volumes and is the first handwritten and illuminated Bible in more than 500 years. This was an amazing experience for all who were able to attend

Coffee Group

The COFFEE GROUP enjoyed a final luncheon at the Saskatoon Farm on May 13th.  The group resumes in September. New members are welcome.

Elsie Whytock Visits Seniors Club -- acknowledging our 30th Anniversary

 Elsie Whytock Visits Seniors LoungeElsie Whytock, one of the original Board Members for the FLC seniors Club visited the Trico Centre with her son on Feb7th.  It’s the 30th Anniversary of our FLC Seniors Club and Trico. At 98 years young Elsie still looks great and is very proud of the clubs continued success. We are offering a small prize to each of the first 5 respondents who can tell us the location of the picture of the first board and where Elsie is in the picture.
