Line Dancing goes Vegas

November 28, 2013

This November,  FLC Seniors line dance instructors Ann Nuell and Marie McLeod, together with 12 members of our line dance classes, went to the “Vegas Dance Explosion” event held annually in Las Vegas. The 5 day International event was attended by 1300 dancers from 26 countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Japan, Hawaii and Singapore. There was a large contingent from the United States and Canada, with Calgary being well represented by a total of 55 dancers from the area.  The event offers 5 days of non stop line dancing and fun.  There are workshops for all level of dancers, plus evening dance parties and performances by dance instructors and professional dancers.  This year, the ever popular Roy Verdonk dancers, from the Netherlands, provided wonderful entertainment each evening.  It was a busy time for our FLC dancers learning new dance steps and meeting people from all over the world. Our dancers have been attending this event for several years now and it is always so much fun, that they are already looking forward to returning next year.
