FLC Seniors Stage West Theatre

A musical revue that explores the evolution and cross-pollination of musical genres over the decades. From the smooth harmonies of 1970’s folk-rock pioneers like the Eagles and the rootsy swamp rock of Creedence Clearwater Revival to the good-time jug band revival sounds of The Lovin’ Spoonful, the lines between pop, rock, and country began to blur. Willie Nelson emerged as a crossover sensation, bringing his authentic country twang to the masses and paving the way for future genre-benders. Fast forward to the 21st century and bands like Mumford & Sons erupted on the scene, marrying old-timey folk instrumentation with an infectious rock energy and massive pop hooks. On the female front, powerhouse vocalists like Linda Ronstadt seamlessly navigated between rock, pop, and country in the ’70s, while Shania Twain exploded in the ’90s with her polished, radio-friendly brand of country-pop. More recently, firecracker artists like Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert have carried the torch, balancing homespun charm with rock and roll attitude. And of course, no discussion of country crossovers would be complete without mentioning Taylor Swift, the Nashville ingénue turned global pop megastar who has bridged the gap between country storytelling and stadium-sized spectacle. Tune in and trace this captivating musical journey as the lines between genres melt away and a new sound takes the town by storm.

Nostalgically recalls the days of miniskirts, transistor radios and flower power!
The electrifying BEEHIVE musical pays homage to the unforgettable female powerhouses of the 1960s, belting out timeless classics like “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “Be My Baby,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” and “Me and Bobby McGee.” Told through the lens of six young women coming of age in this captivating era, BEEHIVE whisks us along their journey – from their first Beehive Dance all the way to navigating the tumultuous challenges facing the nation.
Featuring the music of Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Janis Joplin, this toe-tapping, non-stop musical will have you dancing in your seats!

The 390 seat theatre is ramped and tiered, offering easy access and an excellent view of the stage from all locations. Stage West’s sumptuous 120 item buffet is included with each performance.
Time: Wednesday/Sunday Buffet: 10:30 am - 12:00 pm Curtain: 12:00 pm
Tuesday Evening Buffet: 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm Curtain: 7:45 pm
Ticket Pick Up: Purchased tickets may be picked up anytime including the day of the performance at the Stage West Box Office.
To reserve tickets for Stage West, you must call the Stage West Box Office at 403 243 6642 and identify yourself as a member of the FLC Seniors Club
Club Members and their guests pay the discounted rate of $70.00 (GST included).
Please note: FLC Seniors Club does not organize outings to Stage West. Members must organize their own transportation to the theatre.
