FLC Seniors' SINGLE RULES follows the WPA (World Pool Association)

Rules of Play for 8 Ball

version 15.03.2016

at WPA Rules of Play

with the following exceptions:

  1. Lag determines the order of play
  2. Alternate Breaks
  3. All Fouls are Ball-In-Hand anywhere on the table, excluding re-breaks.
  4. If any numbered ball is inadvertently moved during play (eg by a players hand, body, clothes, cue or bridge), the opposing player has the option to leave the ball where it is or return as near as possible to its original position.

SCOTCH DOUBLES RULES
 1. The two players on each team will alternate shots starting with the first break and continuing the
rotation throughout the entire game. It is up to each team to keep track of who shot last. The opposing
team must alert their opponent if the wrong player is shooting. It is not a foul if the wrong person
shoots.
 2. 40 seconds per shot should be the standard.
 3. There will be no talking to your partner when it is your team’s turn at the table, except during a time
out.
 4. Only during a time out may either player on a team place the cue ball on the table in a ball in hand
situation, or either player may call the pocket for the 8 ball.
 5. Only one time out (one minute) will be allowed per team per game. Only one person is allowed at the
table at any time, except during a time out.
 6. Once a player has completed his/her shot another player must be ready to take their shot. No table talk
is allowed at this time.
7. The FLC Seniors coordinator has final say in any and all decisions to be made.
 8. All other rules follow FLC Seniors Singles Rules (World Pool Association)

WPA Rules

Wait List Clarification

  • Waitlist Coordinators have final say. (Note that this is not the daily coordinator)
  • If you have a designated day(s) and have not signed up to play by the noon Sunday cut off at CHALKS; 6pm Saturday at LEATHER POCKET, waitlist players could fill your spot.
  • Aside from your designated day(s), you can also apply to play on other days by signing up on that day’s waitlist.
  • SignUpGenius cannot be accessed 24 hours before you play. If something unforeseen happens, you can call or text that day’s waitlist coordinator and inform them. (Note that too many late cancellations can result in loss of your designated day.)
  • Players who do not yet have a designated day may want to be flexible in the days of the week that they choose. If one day does not have a space available, another may.
  • If the waitlist coordinator does not move you to play your requested day; then you are not scheduled to play.
  • If you are moved from the waitlist into the playlist, you will receive email confirmation for example, “You are confirmed to play Friday September 8, 2:30-5:30pm”
