we are excited about the upcoming 2017-2018 season.
There will be 3 classes offered through the FLC Seniors Acting Club this Fall.
All on Monday evening in the FLC Seniors Lounge at Trico:
Introduction to Acting -
This six week course is a gentle approach to acting starting with warm ups, relaxation techniques and games to get you out of your heads and on to the stage. Participants will then take a journey through their imaginations, learning how to follow their impulses and we will end with some low-pressure scene work. No experience needed.
Instructor - Megan Fox
Dates: Oct 2,16,23 and 30 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Cost $40.00
Improvisation Basics-
Learn improvisation basics in a fun environment, and how to apply them to acting, auditioning or just everyday life. Exercises will focus on listening, creating character interaction, and learning to think on the spot. Come prepared to laugh and have a whole lot of fun. Any experience level is welcome.
Instructor - Alvin Le.
Dates: Sept 11, 18 and Oct 2,16, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm
Cost 40.00
Playing with Shakespeare-
Each class will begin with some light improvisation exercises to warm up our creativity. Then, the first class will be focused on some basic history of Shakespeare's world and then move into an exploration of techniques to understand Shakespeare's texts, including uncovering rhetorical intent and narrative purpose. The second class will culminate in a performance of short scenes. No memorization will be required. The focus will be on exploration of the words, the story, and having fun! Again no experience needed.
Instructor - Kendle Beth
Mondays 6:00-9:00 pm November 6 and 13
