Before each ride:

  • Make sure your bike is clean and in good mechanical condition.
  • Be sure to check your tire pressure. Tire pressures are listed on the side of every tire and range between 60 and 90 PSI. Check weekly as it decreases in hot weather and with activity.
  • Wipe the cycle chain and apply a lubricant at the same time.

Old Spokes member Brent Thompson prepared some Tip Sheets to further inform Cycling Club members about important aspects of cycling.

Bike Shops and Repairs Options

FLC Old Spokes member Brent Thompson prepared series of reports for FLC Cycling Club members on the various bike shops in the south-end of Calgary at which members may shop or seek out repairs.

It is the hope that these reports will assist members in locating and selecting which shop they may want to visit when the need arises. Any opinions in these reports do not necessarily represent the opinions of the FLC Seniors Old Spokes Cycling Club.
