Bob Andrew will lead a ride from the Alberta Visitor Centre in Canmore along the Legacy Trail to Banff and through to the downtown Central Park where we will have lunch at the bandstand and along the river. We will return by the same trail, hoping for a tail-wind and be back by 2:00 pm. Should the group wish we could also take a short detour to Bow Falls and back to the town centre.
The ride is approximately 40 kms. Please bring the usual supplies including plenty of water and sufficient clothing to allow for changeable weather. There are washrooms at the beginning of the ride, about midway and in Banff. The ride has one short, sharp hill and is generally easy riding the rest of the way with gradual rises and falls.
Meet at the Visitor Centre at the west end of Canmore by 9:30 - 9:45 so that we can leave promptly at 10:00. Parking is provided adjacent to the Visitor Centre parking.
