Complexity
This ride will include a wide variety of surfaces, from paved paths to gravel paths and some foot paths with rocks and roots. There are also some quiet roads and one short road over the #1 hwy that is busy with traffic. There are many small short hills and 3 longer steep hills. Due to the areas of narrow pathways the ride is limited to 12 riders.
Ride details
Meet fellow cyclists at 9:40 am at the old Travel Alberta Canmore Visitor’s Centre parking lot -2801 Bow Valley Trail and be ready to depart at 10:00 am. We will start along a busy pathway and head towards the high school and Canmore golf course to a quiet footpath that leads to the western edge of the town. Then we will head east along gravel paths that border the Bow River and lead us to the engine bridge and the new paved pathway to Three Sisters Mountain Village. We will stop for lunch then double back to the town centre, see the Spring Creek Village, Elevation Place and cross the highway via a tunnel to Cougar creek. The pathway will then take us west to the busy crossing that leads back to the visitor’s centre.
