This ride is approximately 30 km and we'll average 15-20 km per hour. Let's meet at Votier's Flats in Fish Creek Park at 9:40 a.m. for a 10 a.m. departure. We'll head west through the park as far as Shannon Terrace. There are bathrooms in Votier's Flats, Bebo Grove and Shannon Terrace. There is one good steep hill climbing out of Fish Creek. We'll follow the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway path north to Glenmore Reservoir. We'll then go east around the Reservoir through South Glenmore Park to Heritage Park. We'll have lunch and bathroom break at Heritage Park.
We'll return on the same path, parallel to the Reservoir, where we turn into the Oakridge neighbourhood. We'll cut through the Oakbridge, Palliser and Braeside neighbourhoods and then cross 14th Street and head into Canyon Meadows. From there we'll head back to Votier's Flats.
There will be some traffic crossings. I would love to get a volunteer to sweep!
Come prepared: bring water and lunch, emergency information, and a helmet is required. Be sure your bike is in good working order. Dress for the weather.
