We (Old Spokes Joanne and Stu) are planning a beautiful late-summer, multi day cycling getaway to British Columbia’s stunning Okanagan Lakes region. This is a repeat of our 2024 ride with a few small adjustments. This announcement is intended to give interested cyclists a heads up. Sign up will not begin until June 15, 2026.
About the Trip
This will be a relaxed and scenic cycling trip for experienced riders who enjoy beautiful landscapes, good company, and comfortable daily rides.
Participants will arrange their own transportation and accommodations. Options include camping or hotel stays. We hope to organize a group booking at the Holiday Inn Express in Kelowna again. Picnic lunches. Group restaurant dinners will be planned for those interested. Arrival will be Monday Sept 14 in Kelowna. Departure is anytime after completion of day 3 ride.
Both E bikes and M(muscle) bikes welcome.

Day 1 Ride — Myra Canyon Trestles Trail
Tuesday, September 15
Ride Summary
Our first ride will explore the spectacular Myra Canyon Trestles Trail, one of the highlights of the historic Kettle Valley Railway and widely considered one of the most scenic cycling trails in North America.
We will ride from Myra Station to Ruth Station and return along a smooth, compact gravel trail suitable for touring, gravel, and hybrid bikes.
Because the route is relatively short, the plan is to ride the trail together at a relaxed pace, followed by a picnic lunch at the trailhead. Riders looking for additional distance can complete a second out-and-back ride in the afternoon at their own pace.

Day 2 Ride — Penticton to Little Tunnel

Ride Summary
Day 2 features another Okanagan classic, the spectacular Kettle Valley Railway route from Penticton to Little Tunnel and return.
This ride offers breathtaking lake and canyon scenery, gentle railway grades, dramatic cliffside sections, and unforgettable views overlooking Okanagan Lake. The trail surface is primarily compact gravel and suitable for touring, gravel, and hybrid bikes.
The focus will once again be on a relaxed and enjoyable group pace with plenty of opportunities for photos, snacks, and sightseeing.

Day 3 Ride — Lake Country to Vernon and Return
Thursday, September 17
Ride Summary
Our final ride begins at Beasley Park in Lake Country and follows scenic multi-use pathways and rail trails north toward Vernon.
This mostly flat route travels along the east side of Wood Lake, through Oyama, north to Vernon along the spectacular west side of Kalamalka Lake, then returns south along the west side of Kalamalka and Wood Lake back to Lake Country.
