Join Larry and Marilyn and Murray and Susan for a Level 2 ride before 9:45 am and be prepared to explore over 35 km of the town of Airdrie on cycling trails through every quadrant. This ride has two medium hills but is quite flat especially through the communities canal system. If you've never seen the water canals in Airdrie from the highway you will be surprised.
Take Highway 2 north and exit to the right onto Yankee Valley Boulevard East and turn left at the first traffic light into the shopping Mall where you see a MacDonald's and proceed right and through to the south end of the No Frills ,1050 Yankee Valley Crossing, parking lot beside the cycling trail.
Departing the parking lot and venturing east and south Kings Heights, then north to Veteran's Blvd, explore marshland in the north west, then proceed south and circle through Airdrie's canal system. Please bring a lunch a lot's of water for a picnic in Chinook Winds Park beside a water and cycle park. Washrooms are available if you wish to run under the water showers to cool down!! Then we continue east on Airdrie's south side then up Nose Creek into the centre of town, crossing over QE11 via pedestrian back to our start.
