Last Time I led this Ride in July we had rainy weather and lots of smoke which deterred a lot of riders from participating. Hopefully, this time the weather will be great along with great fall colours.
We'll start from the west end of the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot and ride west to Shannon Terrace where we will climb out of Fish Creek Park and head north to Glenmore reservoir. We'll ride part way around the reservoir then crossover Glenmore Trail then ide over the dam back past Rockyview Hospital stopping at Heritage Park for lunch. From there we'll ride through the communities of Bayview, Palliser, Braeside, Southwood crossing over Macleod Trail back along the Fish Creek Park Ridge to Annie's Hill and finally down to the parking lot. Total distance is approximately 42 Kms.
There are two large hills, the first coming out of Fish Creek Park at Shannon Terrace and the second at the northwest corner of the Glenmore reservoir.
The first part of the ride is on paved bike paths while the second part is mostly on residential streets.
Don't forget to bring your helmet, water, lunch/snacks, emergency information, spare tube, tools, etc.
Please plan to arrive by 9:45 am so we can start riding by 10 am.
