Cycling Ride

Level 2

Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:00am

We start at Confederation Park, roll along the golf course and green areas to the University and the new residential area of University District. We will head down a hill and cross Montgomery on our way to Bowness and lunch in Bowness park. We will see the underside of the new Stoney trail bridge and head back through Baker Park, Shouldice and Edworthy park. We then climb a substantial hill up to the edge of the Foothills hospital complex, back through the university and retrace our ride through Confederation park.

There will be 2 bathroom stops at the University and Edworthy Park and a lunch stop with bathrooms at Bowness Park.

Complexity:

This is a relatively flat ride, at least for a NW Calgary ride, with 250 m total ascent (garmin). There are a few steep hills along confederation park golf course and one longer hill by the foothills hospital complex. Also we will ride through the University campus that will require some dodging of students in groups and some students who are somewhat preoccupied.

Meeting Location: Please “google” Rosemont Community Centre -2807 10 St NW, Calgary as there are multiple options for getting to the start location
