Meet Murray and Susan in the parking lot at Mallard Point parking lot in Fish Creek Park about 10:45 am to meet and sign in for an 11 am departure. Mallard Point is at the East End of Canyon Meadows Drive into Fish Creek Park and left into the parking lot with Washrooms.
We and two friends and previous leaders experienced this trail recently and modified our route for Level 1 first rides of the season.
We will venture north along the west side of the Bow River and cross over into Douglasdale on the Sue Higgins Bridge and proceed north along the east side of the Bow River through Douglas Glen to the Gazebo at Riverbend where we will cross the foot bridge to the Dog Park and proceed up the west side of the Bow River towards the north. Our goal is to reach Ogdon Road and take the road across the Bow to return on the West side of the River. Lunch and washroom break are planned for Carburn Park. This 35 km route has one hill which is easy to walk up if necessary with no traffic. Remember to pack a lunch and water.
If any new member is not prepared for the speed or distance the return route is doable by oneself.
Remember to monitor your emails at 8 am on the day of any group cycle trip for possible cancellations due to bad weather like rain or too cold.
