There will be a long rise over Stoney Trail up to Alpine Park and hill’s (walkable) both in and out of Fish Creek
Ride Details:
Meet fellow cyclists at 9:40 am, ready to depart at 10:00 am. There is a Sobey’s nearby for washrooms if needed. From the meeting area, we will go north on 24th St. along road and pathways to 146 Ave. where we will go west over Stoney Trail to Alpine Park. After exploring the new neighbourhood, we will return to 146 Ave. and traverse an upper west portion of Fish Creek park on the ‘rollercoaster’ to the Marshall Springs parking lot. From there, we will drop down into the Fish Creek valley and Bebo Grove for lunch (bathrooms). Then, we will follow the main pathway east to Votier’s Flats and near MacLeod Trail. From there, we will come back up a hill to Shawnee Slopes. Continuing west on a road to Evergreen, we will follow pathways south through Mill Rise and Shawnessy to 162 Ave. Returning back to Bridlewood, we will visit a couple of erratic’s and a wetland. Then back on roads and pathways to the mall.
Rider instructions:
Bring your helmet, lunch, water, suntan lotion, camera, medical card and your enthusiasm. If you are signed up and find you have to cancel, just put your FLC number in again and click “cancel sign up”. If the ride is cancelled you will receive an email notice by 8 am on the day of the ride. The website will also show the ride as CANCELED.
Driving directions to 7-11 in the Shoppes of Bridlewood Mall, 2335 162 Ave SW, Calgary
From SW Stoney Trail: Take the 162 Ave, SW exit and drive east going just past 24 St SW. At the Sobey’s sign turn into the mall and park behind the 7-11. From MacLeod Trail: Drive west on 162 Ave SW going past James McKevitt Drive. Just before 24 St, SW, turn into the mall at the Sobey’s sign and park behind the 7-11.
