Ride Details

We will ride south from the Visitor Information Centre and skirt the Canmore Golf Club to the Bow River.  We will then cross the river and follow the Bow River Loop to West Canmore Park.  Our next destination will be Stewart Creek Golf Club via a bike path parallel to the Bow River and the Three Sisters Parkway. We return on the same path to Rundle Bridge where we cross the river again.

We follow the river pathway south to Millenium Park and then west along bike paths to an underpass under the TransCanada. We then climb along a pathway next to Cougar Creek and continue our climb up Benchlands Trail to Eagle Heights and the SilverTip Golf Course. This will be the highest point of our ride with the remaining portion of the ride level or downhill.

We skirt the golf course on Silvertip Trail and descend towards the Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Rockies on Palliser Trail.  We follow Palliser Trail north to Harvie Heights where we cross the TransCanada Highway and join the Legacy Trail to return to the Visitor Information Centre.

Our route is mainly on paved paths but also includes a number of short steep climbs, gravel, back roads and hard packed trails.

There are a couple of spots to consider for lunch/snack and will make that call during the ride.

Please Arrive at 09:45 with your helmet,  high visibility clothing or vest for road rides, water, emergency information, sun glasses, sun screen, spare tube, pump and lunch.
