Tour of Okotoks
Ride signups will open on August 5th @ 8 am
This ride features the Sheep River Valley and wetlands of Okotoks.
We will be starting from the Okotoks Lions Campground at 10:00 am. Arrive by 9:40 am to check in and meet the other cyclists.
Starting at the Okotoks Lions Campground, we will head west along the river to Sheep River Heights and loop back past the Campground into WoodHaven and Cimarron then across SouthRidge Drive to loop Westmount before returning back across SouthRidge Drive to Cimarron Pond and the southside of the Sheep River Valley, stopping for a picnic lunch at Riverview Park. After lunch we will head up Crystalridge Drive and ride along the Crystalridge pathway then over to Drake Landing and the Okotoks Airport before descending 32nd Street to Seaman’s Stadium and the northside of the Sheep River Valley.
Complexity : The ride includes three moderate hills and one longer hill that can be walked up. We will travel mainly on paved paths and a few quiet streets. Approximate distance 39 km.
Bring your Helmet, lunch, water, sunscreen, emergency info and bike/tire repair kit
If you are signed up and find you have to cancel, just put your FLC number in again and click "cancel sign up" . If the ride is cancelled you will receive an email notice by 8 am the day of the ride.The website will also show the ride as CANCELLED.
Driving Directions to Okotoks Lions Campground
Drive south on Highway 2, taking the Okotoks exit onto Highway 2A into Okotoks. Continue on Highway 2A in town, cross the Sheep River, turn left on Woodhaven Drive and a quick left turn into the Okotoks Lions Campground.
