Best of Airdrie 27
We see the lakes, canals, and neighborhoods of Airdrie using the city's extensive pathway system. No hills.
Route. Starting from Nose Creek Park, we follow Nose Creek north through Ridgegate, Station Crossing, and Willow Brook, veer west around Reunion and its lake, then head south through Williamstown and Woodside, next to the golf course. Next, we ride through the lake and canal district: Sagewood, Canals, and Bayside. After lunch, we explore the south of Airdrie: Prairie Springs, Hillcrest, Morningside, and Coopers Crossing. We return north along Luxstone's border and east through Edgewater back to Nose Creek Park.
Location: Nose Creek Park, Airdrie. Drive north on Highway 2, turn west along Yankee Valley Blvd., north on Main Street just across the Nose Creek bridge, left into Nose Creek Park some 200 meters to the parking lot, near some washrooms.
As the second of a two-part experiment, we will ride in two small groups in tandem, each with a leader and a sweep equipped with radios. During or after the event, I would appreciate feedback on this investigation to raise the number of permitted participants.
Bring lunch. It will be helpful if you arrive 15 minutes before the start for bike preparation, meet and greet, and a quick safety drill. Take your route tracking device for more enjoyment and the possibility of leading this ride or a suitable variant next year.
