Since the ride is down hill or flat for 90% of the ride we should be able to average at least 20 kms/ hr.
The ride is about 50% on pathways, 50% street. We will be experiencing the bike lanes downtown which might be a new concept for some.
We plan on lunch at or near Princes Island.
Most of us will ride the LRT to the Tuscany station in the NW, and this is where the ride will begin as close to 10am as possible.
I suggest that we catch the first available Ctrain after 9 o’clock
Bikes are allowed on the LRT between 9am and 3pm. 2 bikes are allowed in the two end doors of each railcar .
You must remain with your bike at all times and keep it under control when traveling. There is no charge for your bike, but you must pay for your fare
You can catch the train wherever you like, but I have secured permission from the Super store manager at Shawnessy for us to park on their lot.
He wants us to park at the NE corner of the lot near the garden centre
This is a unique ride and don’t let all the instructions scare you off. Everyone enjoyed the ride last year.
